What is a Wiki?

  • A wiki is a medium which can be edited by anyone with access to the password, and provides an easy method for linking from one page to another.
  • Wikis are typically collaborative websites.
  • Wikipedia is perhaps the best known wiki.
  • Wikis typically are used for online work that is meant to be viewed rather than printed.  You typically can view a wiki without a password, and each page has a unique web address..  You need a password to edit a wiki.
